No, at this time The Historic New Orleans Collection is not requiring visitors to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 tests, and masks are optional. These practices may change with minimal notice depending on local conditions. 

 

Tuesday–Saturday, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Sunday, 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

These hours also apply to the museum shop and cafe at 520 Royal Street. The Williams Research Center, at 410 Chartres Street, follows the same schedule, except it is closed every Sunday.

All THNOC properties are closed every Monday and the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Mardi Gras (the Saturday–Tuesday preceding Ash Wednesday), Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Exhibitions are presented at all three sites, and the current exhibition schedule is available online. 

THNOC offers a variety of guided tours. Self-guided exhibitions are presented at each campus, and THNOC’s free app, French Quarter Tours, offers themed, self-guided walking tours. THNOC’s education department also offers field trips for a variety of grade levels. Please check our website, particularly the Events and Ticketing page, for further updates. We also provide online experiences through the History at Home portal. 

It’s free to visit The Historic New Orleans Collection! We do require tickets for our indoor spaces, to help us track visitation, and we encourage all visitors to reserve their tickets online in advance. Tickets are available 30 days in advance, and the maximum number of tickets purchased per order is 10. If you need to reserve more tickets, please contact the Events and Ticketing team at (504) 598-7146 and events@hnoc.org

You may register for tickets online here. All tickets will be held at will call at 520 Royal Street. Timed entrances are available every 30 minutes, on the hour and half-hour. Please bring your confirmation number. A maximum of 10 tickets may be reserved 30 days in advance.

You may walk in to register for tickets, but you may need to wait until the next timed entrance if our galleries have reached their maximum capacity for that time period.

That’s up to you. At this time, masks are not required for visitors or staff members inside THNOC facilities.

Yes. You may also purchase bottled water in the museum gift shop or The Café at the Collection.

Yes. Lockers and bag check are available at 520 Royal Street, and we ask all visitors with large bags to secure their belongings in a locker. We cannot accept suitcases inside the museum, and we do not have storage for them at this time.
