THNOC welcomes students of all ages. Customized field trips are offered FREE of charge and help bring the region’s history to life for students. Classes can participate in docent-led tours, archival show-and-tells, special lectures, and hands-on activities. We will not accommodate unscheduled field trips.

Amid concerns of the Coronavirus, no field trips are being scheduled at this time. When we resume scheduling, THNOC offers field trips Tuesday through Friday, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. To schedule your field trip, please complete the online form. A member of our team will work with you to directly create a custom field trip.

Is the cost of transportation preventing you from scheduling a trip? THNOC is happy to provide funds to cover the cost of transportation. Once you complete your field trip form, complete the bus fund form

Large buses are not allowed within the French Quarter. There are usually spots for buses to park on the 300 block of Bienville Street (between Decatur Street and the river). Please note this block is one-way and must be approached from Conti Street.

There is no fee to schedule a field trip with The Historic New Orleans Collection.

No food or drink is allowed in the galleries. If your group will be eating lunch while in the French Quarter, we suggest taking them to Jackson Square or Woldenberg Park (on the Mississippi River levee).

Please instruct students about proper behavior in museums before they arrive. Please explain that this means no touching, running, or loud voices.
