Providing vital resources for students, teachers, and other researchers

Books are valuable reference tools for the ever-increasing number of researchers visiting the Williams Research Center. The holdings of The Historic New Orleans Collection’s expanding library range from rare publications such as Les Cenelles (1845), the earliest volume of African American poetry published in the United States, to the latest scholarly works about our region. The Historic New Orleans Collection invites you to support the library by joining the Bookplate Program for $100.

The book purchased through your donation will be marked with a commemorative bookplate that acknowledges your gift. You may also honor an individual or family through a bookplate. The Historic New Orleans Collection will notify the honoree or a relative of your thoughtful gift. Additionally, the commemoration will be included in the item’s cataloging record.

Your generosity will help The Historic New Orleans Collection continue our mission to promote the study and appreciation of the history and culture of New Orleans and Louisiana.
