Decorative Arts of the Gulf South

Where: Onsite at HNOC
Upcoming internships will take place from June 23 through July 31, 2025. This year’s internships will be based at HNOC in New Orleans with several field trips to local historic sites. Focusing on digital humanities, intern tasks will include developing online content that provides historical and architectural context and ensuring metadata accuracy.
Interns will also contribute to ongoing archival research into historic clothing DAGS documented at Shadows-on-the-TecheOpens in new tab, a National Trust Historic Site in New Iberia, LA. The David Weeks and Family Papers in the LSU libraries special collections provide insights into life at the Shadows, including the role of enslaved seamstresses.
Applicants must have completed at least one semester of graduate coursework. Recently graduated emerging professionals are also eligible. A prior research interest or familiarity with the Gulf South is preferred.
