During this season of giving thanks, The Historic New Orleans Collection celebrates the history and culture of three Indigenous tribes. Explore tasty recipes of the Choctaw-Apache Tribe, create a replica of the Coushatta heritage logo, and learn to count in the Tunica language! This family activity kit includes information sheets about the tribes, activity guidelines, and all supplies needed to complete craft projects. We're happy to offer free delivery to Orleans and Jefferson Parishes, plus pick-up options in both parishes. Kits will be sold on a "pay what you wish" model with a $0 minimum payment.

Let's Make Puppets!

Our puppet kits have sold out!

Each kit costs $5 and includes all supplies necessary to create three paper bag puppets of historical figures—printed puppet parts, three paper bags, one pair of safety scissors, a glue stick, and a box of crayons. We'll also provide mini biographies and links to resources to learn more about each historical figure.

For this program, we are only offering contactless delivery of kits within Jefferson and Orleans Parishes. If you are interested in purchasing a kit but do not live within Orleans or Jefferson Parish, or if you have any questions, please email education@hnoc.org.
