THNOC’s Education Department invites chess lovers of all ages to Chess Fest at The Historic New Orleans Collection! The Chess Fest is an event organized by THNOC Chess Club. Guests will be able to craft DIY chessboards, play chess puzzle games, play “human chess” on a giant chessboard, and join a friendly fast-chess tournament.

- 10 to 11 a.m. – Beginner's crash course on Chess
- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Chess arts and crafts
- 11 to 11:30 a.m. – "Human Chess" match between National Masters Nick Matta and Dex Webster on a life-sized chess board
- 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Checkmate puzzle competition
- 12:30 to 2 p.m. – Chess film screenings
- 12 to 2 p.m. – 5-minute Blitz Chess Tournament
