Join the Preservation Hall Foundation and The Historic New Orleans Collection for our first Sensory Friendly Family Day!

On Sensory Friendly Family Day, from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, enjoy a sensory-friendly morning. The Historic New Orleans Collection and Preservation Hall Foundation are gearing their programming towards young children, but you'll find many opportunities for children of all ages to learn and create through hands-on exploration with tactile opportunities and sensory tools.

This Sensory Friendly Family Day is centered around Danny Barker's A Life in Jazz (THNOC 2016), exploring the music of New Orleans and meeting many musicians whose lives and careers were impacted by the teachings of guitarist and banjoist Danny Barker. This accessible event is designed for people with autism and other sensory processing needs. (Siblings, family members, and caregivers are also welcome.)

Sensory Friendly Family Day will take place at both The Historic New Orleans Collection and Preservation Hall. It is free with advance registration, but space is limited to 40 guests total so that families can enjoy a crowd-free space.
