Join The Historic New Orleans Collection on Saturday, October 28, for the 14th annual Louisiana Book Festival in Baton Rouge. The literary celebration is held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in multiple downtown Baton Rouge venues and is presented by the Louisiana Center for the Book in the State Library of Louisiana. Book lovers of all ages will have the opportunity to interact with more than 250 authors and panelists. THNOC will be one of this year's featured publishers, with a booth displaying an array of titles.

In addition, THNOC's recent publications, Guidebooks to Sin, A Life in Jazz, and Garden Legacy, will be the subject of three discussions at the festival. Details on each of the presentations and subsequent book signings are below.

  • 10– 11 a.m. Discussion of Guidebooks to Sin: The Blue Books of Storyville, New Orleans with author Pamela D. Arceneaux (State Capitol Building, House Committee Room 5)
  • 11:15 a.m.–noon Book signing with Arceneaux (Barnes & Noble Bookselling Tent)
  • noon–12:45 p.m. Discussion of A Life in Jazz with editor Alyn Shipton and journalist Gwen Thompkins, author of the introduction to THNOC's 2016 edition (State Capitol Building, Senate Chamber)
  • 1–1:45 p.m. Book signing with Shipton and Thompkins (Barnes & Noble Bookselling Tent)
  • 1:15–1:45 p.m. Discussion of Garden Legacy with Florence Jumonville, research and editorial assistant (State Capitol Building, House Committee Room 5)
