Author and photographer Richard Sexton will lead a discussion of his photographs in Enigmatic Stream: Industrial Landcapes of the Lower Mississippi River, his newest exhibition, now on view at The Historic New Orleans Collection's 520 Royal Street campus. Join us for a short discussion followed by an opportunity to walk through the galleries and interact with the artist. This program is held in conjunction with PhotoNOLA, the photography festival held in New Orleans every December.

With his photographs, Sexton captures jarring juxtapositions of innovation and decay, the commercial and the residential, and the manmade and the natural along the Mississippi River between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. On view through April 5, Enigmatic Stream is the result of nearly 20 years of Sexton documenting this complicated industrial corridor. The exhibition is presented along with a companion catalog, published by THNOC, which retails for $40 at The Shop at The Collection and other booksellers.

Admission to this program is free, and registration is not required. Visit PhotoNOLA's website to see all of the photography events happening around New Orleans during the festival.
