Alecia Long, the Paul and Nancy Murrill Professor of History at LSU, will lead a discussion and screening of the controversial 1978 film Pretty Baby, which centers on a 12-year-old prostitute named Violet (Brooke Shields) living in Storyville in the final days of the District. The film also stars Susan Sarandon as her mother, Hattie, and Keith Carradine as famed Storyville photographer Ernest J. Bellocq. The film is rated R and is intended for mature audiences.
