a free concert featuring
Carlos Miguel Prieto, conductor

Dara Rahming, soprano

Over the centuries, waves of newcomers—French, Spanish, African, Irish, German, Italian, West Indian, English, Latin American, Anglo-American, Chinese, Vietnamese, and more—have joined their musical traditions with those of Louisiana’s indigenous populations to create a unique symphony of sound. On the occasion of the tricentennial of the founding of New Orleans, the twelfth concert in the annual series Musical Louisiana: America’s Cultural Heritage celebrates the diverse influences that compose the city’s extensive musical legacy.

General seating will be available at 7 p.m. A live video stream of this concert will be available at LPOmusic.com. Listen live on WWNO 89.9 FM, WWNO HD2, or Classical 104.9 FM in the New Orleans area, KTLN 90.5 FM in the Thibodaux-Houma area, or on www.wwno.org.
