A lecture by Dennis Reinhartz, professor emeritus of history at the University of Texas at Arlington

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition New Orleans, the Founding Era, Reinhartz’s presentation will culminate in 1718 with Guillaume de L’Isle’s map of Louisiana—the first to indicate New Orleans—and will continue with others on view in the exhibition. In addition, he will explore with the connections between the early French and Spanish mapping of the area.

Please note that registration is strongly encouraged. Reservations will be held until five minutes prior to the beginning of the event, at which time any unclaimed seats will be released to the public. To make reservations email wrc@hnoc.org or call (504) 523-4662.
