Books are valuable reference tools for the ever increasing number of researchers visiting the Williams Research Center.  The holdings of The Collection’s expanding library range from rare publications such as Les Cenelles (1845), the earliest volume of African American poetry published in the United States, to such recently published sources as Intimate Enemies: The Two Worlds of the Baroness Pontalba (1997) by Christina Vella.  Library staff work to make books readily available was well as to preserve them for future generations.  The Collection invites you to support the library by joining the Bookplate Program for $100.

Your donation will be used to purchase a book which will be marked with a commemorative bookplate listing your name.  You may also honor an individual or family.  The honoree or family will be notified by the library of your thoughtful gift.  Additionally, the commemoration will be recorded in the item’s cataloging record.

Your generosity will help The Collection to continue its mission to promote the study and appreciation of the history and culture of New Orleans and Louisiana.
