Concerts in the Courtyard with Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue

Concerts in the Courtyard, The Historic New Orleans Collection’s popular outdoor music series, returns Friday, September 18, with a performance from Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue. Now in its eighth year, Concerts in the Courtyard offers a fun, casual and affordable way to kick off the weekend. In addition to Gal Holiday, the fall series will include shows by Banu Gibson (Friday, October 16) and Little Freddie King (Friday, November 20).

All concerts this season will feature a bar serving white wine and beer. In addition, Kingfish Kitchen and Cocktails—sponsor of THNOC’s exhibition From Winnfield to Washington: The Life and Career of Huey P. Long—will provide Ramos Gin Fizz cocktails (a favorite of Long’s) at the September concert. Admission to each show is $10, free for THNOC members, and includes three beverages. Shows are held at 533 Royal Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the concerts are held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. THNOC’s museum shop and first-floor exhibition galleries will offer extended hours during the event.

About the band
Based in New Orleans and inspired by folk and bluegrass, Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue are known for their brand of vintage honky-tonk and rockabilly. The ensemble, the recipient of two Big Easy Awards (2008, 2009) and a Best of the Beat Award (2010), released their third album “Last to Leave” in 2014.
