Field trips to THNOC are always free.

We welcome students of all ages for customized experiences at our French Quarter campus. Our team offers exhibition tours, hands-on activities, archival show-and-tells, and much more to bring the region's history to life. Whether you are interested in a special exhibition, topics related to Louisiana state standards, or a presentation that focuses on little known subjects, we are happy to design a unique experience that meets the needs of your classroom.

Scheduling

Ready to book your custom field trip? Let's talk! Please email THNOC's Education Department or call us at 504-556-7661.  Student tours are offered Tuesday through Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  We cannot accommodate unscheduled field trips.

Buses

Is the cost of transportation preventing you from scheduling a trip? THNOC is happy to provide funds to cover the cost of transportation. Ask us about our Bus Fund program!

Large buses are not allowed within the French Quarter. There are usually spots for buses to park on the 300 block of Bienville Street (between Decatur Street and the river). Please note this block is one-way and must be approached from Conti Street.

Guidelines

There is no fee to schedule a field trip with The Historic New Orleans Collection.

No food or drink is allowed in the galleries. If your group will be eating lunch while in the French Quarter, we suggest taking them to Jackson Square or Woldenberg Park (on the Mississippi River levee).

Please instruct students about proper behavior in museums before they arrive. Please explain that this means no touching, running, or loud voices.
